Rubble-walled enclosure with cast-iron gates. Typical ancient burial ground terraced into side of hill, consisting of rectangular area of raised ground enclosed by low wall to create higher ground level. Burial ground was formerly hub of Migvie parish prior to absorption into newly amalgamated Logie Coldstone parish in late 18th century centred on Newkirk, which is equidistant between 2 similar ancient burial grounds of Logie and Coldstone.
Site contains numerous gravestones from 18th and 19th centuries including several recumbent slab stones carved with death motifs similar in style to those at Tarland and Coull. Antiquity of site is suggested by Migvie Stone ? Pictish standing stone depicting rider and knotwork cross (Scheduled Monument).
