1754; partially reconstructed 1829. 2 arched rubble bridge,
higher at W bank than E. Unequal stone arch rings, the
larger, western arch passing over main stream. Triangular
cut-waters; parapet removed to accommodate temporary girder
type bridge; some breeze block repairs.
Damaged, circa 1976. Plaque at Well of Lecht near Tomintoul, commemorates building of road in 1754 "from here to Spey by
the 33rd Reg" which passes over Bridge of Avon.
Smaller arch destroyed in 1829 floods.
