Late 16th century. Small Laird's house 2-storey garret and vaulted basement L-plan with circular stair tower corbelled to square at attic level; corbelled angle turrets with later oversailing roofs N & S angles. Single storey S wing probably c 1800, altered later; modern harl with margins, crowstepped and slated. Interior modernised.
Built by the Myrtouns, purhcased by the Moncrieffs early 17th century bought by Michael Balfour of Pitmedden 1663.
