Description

GATES: probably circa 1900, ornate re-used wrought-iron pair carriage gates.

GATEPIERS: circa 1950. Plain square harled gatepiers.

Statement of Interest

Gates (similar to pair hung at West Lodge entrance, Altyre)

Brought from Gordonstoun circa 1950. Gordonstoun belonged

to the Gordon Cumming family of Altyre until circa 1950;

the gates were probably installed during the time of Sir

William and Lady (Florence) Gordon Cumming, who carried

out much new building on both estates at the turn of the

century.

Manachie Lodge (A and W Reid, 1864 with subsequent

additions) not included in listing.
