Description

Early-mid 19th century. A pair of ice houses used for storing ice to preserve salmon for shipment to English markets. There is a side entrance and a main entrance through a small rubble building, with gable roof, corrugated-iron clad. The Western ice house in a linked mound and with its own turf cover is a single vaulted chamber, much taller, with a concrete-framed doorway set in the middle of the west side.
