Small Georgian mansion approached over bridge in wooded policies. Erected between 1791 and 1794 by William Lawson of Cairnmuir and later sold to John White of Drumelzier, the place has been altered and enlarged at various times, and is now in the hands of the Girl Guides Association. The original house comprises a main block of 3 storeys and attic, principal facade being pedimented with centre pilastered
doorway and palladian window above. A Victorian wing projects at the back and is terminated in a small square turret. Masonry of original house is random rubble, yellow sandstone dressings.
