Later 19th century. Scots Baronial. 2 1/2 storeys with higher tower and 1 1/2 storey wing. Ashlar. Slated roof. Tower in 3 storeys with corbie-stepped cap-house. Segmental-headed openings to left and right of tower (converted into door and window) have hinges and were originally carriage-entrances.
On OS of 1853. Built for Thomas S Adinston of Carcant as coachhouse. New mansion was never built and so this was converted into one. Acquired by Somervilles c 1905.
