A & W Reid, Elgin and Inverness, 1865. Asymmetrical 2-storey
gabled building, all rubble with contrasting tooled red ashlar dressings. Near centre entrance in SE front masked by gabled
rustic timber porch flanked by slightly projecting gabled
bay to left with bipartite in ground floor and tripartite to
right. 4-bay SW garden front, with single canted bay window
in ground floor and slightly advanced gabled bay at left.
Some 1st floor windows break eaves as gabled dormers; 2-pane
glazing coped end and ridge stacks; slate roof. Small single
storey rubble lean-to with tooled rubble margins projects at
NE gable and houses Post Office.
Stables; rectangular rubble building with gable to road, now
with "up and over" type garage door replacing former segmental
gighouse entry. Stable entrance in long return elevation.
Stables linked to Post Office by short length coped rubble
wall with double gated entrance flanked by simple square
rubble gate piers with shallow pyramidal caps.
