Description

House: circa 1730-40. 2-storey, 5-bay house; all harled.
Centre door masked by wide later projecting (west front)
porch, flanked by later, larger single windows; smaller 1st
floor windows paired in outer bays; 12-pane glazing;
irregular and altered rear fenestration; rear buttress at
NE; renewed end stacks; West Highland slate roof.
Dry stone garden wall.
Former steading: low single storey harled steading, now
converted to dwellings; irregular fenestration; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Property of National Trust for Scotland. Ground floor house

windows might be later alterations, from paired narrow

windows as in 1st floor to present single larger type.

Converted steading used by National Trust personnel. Appears

as Inverewe on 1st edition OS (1874).
