Description

Style of Alexander Ross, circa 1869. Single storey, 3 bay
gate lodge with gabled projecting centre open porch; coursed
stugged rubble, tooled dressings. Canted bay window with
crenellated parapet in south gable, bipartite in north gable;
gabletted crowsteps; ball finials; centre corniced ridge
stack; slate roof, extension to rear.
2 pairs square tooled ashlar gate piers with wide stopped
chamfers; quatrefoil decoration; eagle owl terminals to
centre pair. Low coped stugged coursed rubble quadrants with
end piers detailed as before. Ornate cast-iron railings,
pedestrian and carriage gates.
