Description

1790-1805. 2 storey, 3 wide bays. Harled rubble with
ashlar dressings. Large projecting central bowed bay with
centre corniced door and flanking windows; 3 windows in
bow at 1st floor. Keystoned venetian windows in 1st floor
outer bays linked by continuous cill band, with deeper
band course immediately below, and at wallhead. Margined
crenellations to wallhead; projecting bowed rear stair
well; paired ridge stacks; piended slate roof.
Large sliding door slapped in west gable; house gutted internally.

Statement of Interest

Built by George Cockburn Ross of Berwickshire who succeeded

to Shandwick in 1790.
