Description

A. Maitland and Sons, 1889. Arts and Crafts; 2-storey
estate lodge, 2 asymmetrical bays. Tooled sneck coursed
red sandstone ground floor with imitation timber framed
upper storey; tooled ashlar dressings. Cruciform; gabled
to right 2-storey rectangular block with jettied 1st floor
carried on heavy consoles; piended stair bay projects to
north with entrance at ground masked by rustic porch.
Single bay entension to south linked to small square kitchen.

Statement of Interest

Built for game-keeper; kennels in ground. Gives on to

secondary drive to Tarbat House. Datestone in form of shiel

with large C (for Earl of Cromarty), 1889 and Earls coronet.

Kitchen appears to have been former game larder.
