Early 19th century, possibly with 17th century core,
reroofed and partly re-fronted in later 1920's. Single
storey and attic, whinstone rubble with ashlar dressings,
and quoins droved columns once polished now weathered.
Symmetrical north elevation with central 4 column porch
(door converted to window) and built out rendered and half
timbered attic. Flanking windows with attic lights over
rectangular hood-moulds to ground floor. West elevations
has 2 column and 2 pilaster canted bay to left with central
French window and faceted roof. Plain window to right 3
gables to rear, central most advanced rendered addition
left and lower wing right, whinstone with small gothic
pointed light with intersecting tracery, and door in side.
Jerkin-headed gable and outshots to east. Red tiled
roof on projecting eaves with plain boarding. 2 tall
chimneys each with 3 octagonal corniced stacks and later
rendered stacks, small scalloped tiled octagonal lantern
in centre. Altered glazing ground floor north-elevation
and west elevation south end-sundial in garden to east
on baluster base? 18th century and 2 square chanelled ashlar
gatepiers (missing caps) at entrance.
Reputedly the Elginton family Dower House, occupied by
Lady Susannah (born a Kennedy of Culzean in 1689) who died
in 1780 and is said to have built a farm modelled on Marie
Antoinette's 'Hameau' at Versailles on the site of the
present club house.
Kidsneuk Cottage thatched until about 1925.
