Description

Architect probably J T Rochead, circa 1852. U-plan stable

block, with screen wall to west enclosing glass-roofed

courtyard. Symmetrical west elevation: single storey;

coursed, stugged red ashlar with polished dressings: central 2-canted-arched carriage entrance flanked by 2 blind slits,

tripartites in outer bays; moulded coping of screen wall

raised and stepped over entrance, crenellated parapet to

outer bays with central diamond flues. All openings

hood-moulded.

Interior: 4 arcaded depressed arches to north and south

walls: stalls complete, with tiled walls.

Low quadrant wall stepped to slope; circular corniced

gatepiers have domed caps.
