Description

Later 19th century, traditional Skye dwelling of long-house type. Single storey, 2 entrances with flanking skylights, and very small window to rear, lighting dwelling. Dwelling entrance to left (west) and byre to right; beaten earth floor to dwelling, cobbles to byre with drain and vent close to footings. Rubble, rounded corners; some large stones included in lower courses and selected to face dwelling entrance. Thick, battered walls, piended thatched roof.

Statement of Interest

Now used as byre and for hens. Overall ground plan measurements approximately 63' x 15', the house end being just under half the length. Built by great uncle of Mr Macleod living at 1 Shulista.
