Description

Mid/later 19th century. Continuous row 13 single storey byres sharing cobbled frontage and common drain. Varying slightly in size, 2, 3 and 4 stalls. Rubble with corrugated iron roof.

Statement of Interest

Most unusual row that once extended a further 2 or 3 units up the hill. Lower portion of row appears on 1872 OS. Like fishing stores, the byres would originally have been thatched.
