Description

House; circa 1838. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay house;
coursed rubble, tooled ashlar dressings, harled flanks.
Narrow, slightly recessed centre bay with centre door
masked by late 19th century projecting gabled and
barge-boarded porch.
Hoodmoulded and margined windows; margined angles; 2 late
19th century canted dormers; mainly 12-pane glazing.
Single storey, 2-bay wing to rear; modern glazed sun
parlour at east gable.
Corniced end stacks; slate roof.
Service cottage; at rear of house, single storey, 3-bay
cottage; rubble, tooled rubble dressings; centre door;
12-pane glazing; end stacks; slate roof.
Coped rubble retaining wall.

Statement of Interest

Helmsdale Church (Church of Scotland built opposite manse

in 1838 with alterations and additions in 1896.

Church in Stafford Street no longer in ecclesiastical

use.
