House: late 18th early-19th century symmetrical 2-storey,
3-bay house; all harled. Centre door in NW front masked by
later porch with side entrance and piended slate roof.
4-pane glazing; renewed end stacks; slate roof. Small
lean-to to rear linked to house.
Barn (Leishman Centre): late 18th-early 19th century,
rectangular, 2-storey, white-washed rubble former barn
with long elevations NW and SE. Centre door in SE frontage
in raised ground floor reached by long ramped raised to run
full length of building. NW elevation has pair long slit
vents flanking centre 1st floor (raised ground floor) window
(former winnowing door) with doors and windows lighting
former stables and byres in raised basement. Multi-pane
glazing; modern Velux skylights to roof at SE; slate roof.
Converted barn now houses Glencoe Mountain Rescue HQ, named
the Leishman Centre. Barn of Lochaber "bank barn" type with
access to 1st floor threshing and storage barn via ramp or
artificial raised bank, and with accommodation for stock and
stabling in ground floor (or raised basement).
Achnacon formerly the home of the Stewarts of Achnacon.
