Mid-later 19th century. Single storey and attic, narrow
3-bay cottage. Rubble with contrasting painted frontage
joints and reveals. Centre entrance; flanking window at
right and at left narrow stair window; single canted
wallhead dormer; single window in N gable; 2- and 4-pane
glazing. Coped end stacks; slate roof.
Harled lean-to extension at rear.
Identified as No 56 on OS. Probably former schoolhouse
serving former school next door (now the Gospel Hall) until
superseded by later school (now restaurant).
