Early 19th century, with 19th and early 20th century additions and alterations. Original house: 2-storey, 3-bay whinstone rubble with cream sandstone dressings. Central entrance, with flanking 2-storey canted bays. Doorpiece has flanking banded pilasters, plain entablature broken by multiple keystone. Double 6-panel grained outer door with plain fanlight above, half-glazed main door with 3-pane segment-headed fanlight. Single window above with raised quoins, 12-pane sash-and-case glazing. Bays have 4-pane sash and case to side. Moulded eaves course. Weathered skews, gablehead chimney stacks with 4 octagonal stone-built cans on each. Slate roof. To right single-storey peind-roofed wing, to left early 20th century extension on L plan, with mansard roof 3 bays to front, harled and slated. Ground-floor windows large 12-pane sash and case, first floor 6-pane lower, 3-pane upper sashes in timber frame. Fireclay ridges. Rear nondescript, harled as extension. Early 19th century steading at rear of similar construction to original house, but part harled, part harl-pointed. Small walled garden beyond extension of house.
Good interiors, with fine plasterwork. Main stair has plain railings with fine wooden handrail. Some early 20th century light fittings. Two black tiled art-deco bathrooms. Extension school of Burnet.
