Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse with later single storey and attic service wing to rear; further later addition to E. Painted rubble, slate roof, terracotta ridge tiles. 12-pane sash and case windows to main house, margined 8-lying-pane elsewhere. Margined angles. Plain bargeboards, coped ridge stacks.

S ELEVATION: door to centre masked by modern conservatory, window to left and right, 3 windows to 1st floor.

W ELEVATION: gable to right, window to ground and 1st floor left; pentice-roof bay to left return with door and 2 windows, stair window to S elevation of main house; lower service wing recessed to left, asymmetrical, 2 windows to ground floor, 2 dormerheaded windows above, half-piended roof to far left with dormerheaded window to left return. INTERIOR: not seen.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rubble boundary walls.

Eastfield Farmhouse is listed for its group value with Eastfield Steading. The building does not appear on either the 1825 or 1828 maps, but is shown on the 1860 OS map.
