Description

18th century with wing of circa 1800. L-plan 2-storey farmhouse with single storey gabled porch. Rubble stone with ashlar dressings, broadly droved on circa 1800 wing. N elevation to steading with 3 widely spaced byas, small windows at centre and at ground to left, and regular windows to right. Modern porch added to single storey 18th century porch at left. High rubble wall with pedestrian gateway to right. Right-hand bay of original S elevation remaining with window to each floor; circa 1800 jamb with higher eaves adjoined to centre and right; doorway to re-entrant angle to, and window flanking to left. 2 windows at ground to S end of jamb, one blinded.

12-pane glazing pattern predominating in sash and case windows. Grey slates. Steeply pitched gable to 18th century wing with unusually pronounced skews and skewputts; later ashlar stacks with thackstanes.

RETAINING WALLS: rubble walls, rubble coped to S, surrounding garden and linking house with U-plan steading to N, not included in current listings.
