Circa 1845. 2-storey 3-bay dormer Free Church manse with range of single storey outbuildings adjoined. Coursed, snecked and stugged cream stone to principal elevation and ashlar dressings; rubble yellow stone sides and rear.
Doorway at centre with panelled door and fanlight, flanked by windows at ground and with window to each bay at 1st floor. Stair window at rear flanked by windows to left, and with additional window inserted at 1st floor; piend roofed stone porch adjoined at ground, linking with piend roofed range of outbuildings.
12-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Grey slates. Shouldered end stacks.
Not to be confused with Boldon Old Manse, in Bolton Village, by the church. The curtain wall and well which lie to SE of house are all that remains of the Free Church and the now extinct hamlet of pilmuir.
