Early and mid 19th century, with later additions. Farmhouse and steading.
FARMHOUSE: single storey and attic, 3-bay, symmetrical house. Squared and snecked whinstone rubble, with ashlar dressings. Long and short quoins. Principal elevation comprising modern glazed door, with original 4-pane fanlight, centred at ground, flanked by windows, with canted dormer windows aligned above in outer bays. Window and attic light centred in NE gable; window to left and attic light at centre of SW gable. Graded grey slate roof, cast-iron rainwater goods, coped gablehead stacks; skews.
N RANGE OF STEADING: earlier 19th century, with alterations. Single storey whinstone rubble with ashlar dressings, with whitewashed brick. Grey slated, pantiled, and corrugated-sheet cladding to roof. 9 infilled feeding windows to W elevation of earlier building at rear.
S RANGE OF STEADING: mid-19th century, former mill building. Snecked whinstone rubble with later droved ashlar dressings. Main building 2-storey, symmetrical. 5-bay NE elevation, comprising irregular openings at ground, with wide door to right, flanked by window to left, taller door and window to right; hay-loft door centred at 1st floor NE elevation, flanked by windows, with windows in outer bays. Stabling to outer left at ground, comprising original setted floor, tall trevises, with boarded folding door; later red brick lean-to stable projecting to outer left. Sliding door at centre of ground to SW elevation, with window aligned above. Piended slate roof. Various later additions.
Various buildings to NE; rubble with ashlar dressings, including 5-bay implement shed with iron stanchions in bays, outer 2 removed at left, creating irregular 4-bay shed; 3 feeding window to S interior wall, 2 inlaid with brick, shuttered with timber lintels; corrugated-sheet cladding to roof.
The mills were shown on M Forres' 1818 map of Linlithgowshire. The central, internal waterwheel in the S range has been removed.
