Late 18th early 19th century, single-storey, 3-bay cottage. Centre entrance flanked by single windows. Harled (grey), with blue-painted margins. Later 19th century plate glass timber sash and case windows (with horns). Slate roof with low-swept eaves. Raised block skews; masonry ridge; pair gable stacks.
Auchmithie village stands on an elevated site overlooking the North sea. It is irregularly planned and consists of simple uniformly-designed fisher cottages, generally dating from the 18th century, some rebuilt in the 1860's. Regrettably, most have been much altered in recent years (1992). No longer a fishing village, Auchmithie is also of historical interest as the "Musselcrag" of Scotts' Antiquary.
