Dated 1588, altered 18th century. 2-storey and attic T-plan, centre front tower of 3 stages, 2nd stage on cable moulded corbel course, top truncated with piended roof; bottom stage originally contained stair to lst floor, gutted as entrance hall and triple keylocked doorpiece inserted 18th century. Corbelled stair turret on squinch arch in W re-entrant angle, corbelled to square at top, ashlar parapet; smaller corbelled turret feature in E angle; elaborate window and panel feature upper stages of E face harled and whitewashed with margins, ashlar chimneys.
Belonged to the Lumsdens; to the Prestons c 1600; then to the Anstruthers who added two large wings in the 17th century; then to the Earl of Kellie who died there 1830; wings removed by Sir David Erskine thereafter.
