Original house a plain 2-storey rectangular-plan, built
second half of 18th century, full-height bow added circa 1800
at north end of principal east elevation; remodelled 1845
(dated) in style of Walter Newall with piend-roofed tall
3-storey rectangular tower added to south. Mostly
rubble-built with ashlar dressings; bow is rendered; 1845
work polished red ashlar. Basement at north. Tower:
bipartites to elevations, paired at east and linked by cills
or cornice; ground floor windows projecting, upper windows
architraved; remaining south-facing bay similarly treated.
Margined near-centre porch (also circa 1840) on east
elevation with consoled pediment above door; crest in square
panel on house above. Sash windows (mostly small-paned)
throughout; cornices; stacks mostly 1845 with corniced
octagonal flues; slate roofs. Twin-gabled west elevation.
Interior: some decorative ceiling and cornice plasterwork. Rectangular-plan shed to rear (west) has 2 vaulted basement compartments.
