Early 19th century with late 19th and modern additions and
alterations. T-plan house with square infil block to W
re-entrant.
S elevation: 2-storey, 3-bay painted rubble with rusticated
quoins, probably early 19th century build with late 19th
century alterations. To ground 2 canted bay windows linked by
timber latticework verandah. To 1st, 3 single light windows
break through eaves with timber gablet-headed dormers.
Rear wing early 19th century with later alterations slightly
lower 2-storey painted rubble with rusticated quoins. 3-bay
with central pedimented Roman-Doric porch. Margined windows,
to ground right canted bay window, to 1st right tripartite
window. 2 gabled dormers. All sash and case windows with
small pane glazing. All replaced circa 1980. Corniced end
stacks, octagonal cans, sandstone skews, slate roofs.
Steading: 3 rubble-built ranges built around courtyard. Long
2-storey E range built into sloping site giving ground level
access to W side 1st floor. E elevation largely unaltered,
W elevation with enlarged openings, dovecote to S gable wall,
blocked opening below. N range single storey with dwelling to
right, open wood-house to left with cast-iron columns
supporting roof. S range 2-storey rubble barn. All with slate
roofs, sandstone skews and ridge.
