Description

18th century mansion possibly incorporating earlier fabric. Three storeys and garret; six bays wide. Harled. Slated roof. Later pedimented porch. Altered fenestration. Inset lintel inscribed '1589 D.M./L.M. welcome Friends' brought from Otterston Castle.

Statement of Interest

Cockairnie belonged to the Moubray (or de MOUBAY) family from 1511 until the early 1970s. They were descended from Moubrays of Barnbougle, West Lothian and of Inverkeithing.

Listed building record updated in 2021 to correct spelling of Moubray.
