Earlier 19th century. Single storey octagonal plan shelter/temple. Stugged, coursed ashlar. Round arched openings to each elevation. Heavy projecting cornice. Pyramidal, stone flagged and ridged roof rising to octagonal stone apex. Interior; thick central octagonal pier supporting 8 segmental ribs which spring to outer piers. Geometrically flagged stone floor.
B-group with Cullaloe Farmhouse, Cullaloe Tower and Cullaloe Dry Bridge. The temple was probably built at around the same time the farmhouse had its grand classical extension added in the earlier 19th century. It is situated in the Cullaloe Woods in a clearing at the end of a long tree lined avenue to the SW of Cullaloe Farmhouse (see separate listing). It is complimented by a rubble tower (see separate listing) to the NE along the same avenue. It is constructed from locally quarried Cullaloe sandstone. It was noted that the roof has lost 2 of its stone flags and has vegetation growth, (2002).
