Early 19th century. Roadbridge, single wide segmental arch
over River Liddel. Coursed stugged and squared rubble, with
recessed ashlar arch-rings; ashlar parapets perhaps not
original and splayed at approaches, terminal piers with
pyramidal caps.
See SRO RHP 9711/1-2 designs for bridge over Liddel at
Haithwaite Mill 1766 by John Armstrong and Samuel Halton:
designs are similar though Halton's has recessed arch ring, as
on existing bridge. Part in England.
