Earlier 18th century symmetrical 2-storey 5-bay house with
sunk basement; earlier 19th century porch added to W,
(?)early 20th century full-height (rear) wing to E. Single
storey steading range (now part domestic) adjoins S gable.
Harled, painted ashlar margins with chamfered reveals (deeply
chamfered at W); modern glazing with imitation sashes;
basement light at S end.
W elevation: flat-roofed painted ashlar wide central porch
with broad clasping pilasters, door in re-entrant angle;
splayed base course; lintel/eaves course; moulded cornice;
straight skews; rebuilt (brick) end stacks; slate roof. E
elevation (originally similar) 4 bays (originally 5), central
wing with 2-bay gable and apex stack with wide cornice.
Rubble-built wall encloses garden to E and to W; iron gates
on W wall with spiked rails.
Porch comparable with that at Dormont Grange, Dalton Parish.
Steading not included in listing.
