Description

Built mainly in 1st half of 19th century, but incorporating

some earlier buildings. Combined stables/mains with cottages

and kennels, all built about open court; barn with unusually

large horsemill. All whitewashed rubble and ashlar dressings, contrasting painted margins. Roofs mostly covered with graded

slates.

COTTAGES close court at W; pair single storey and (?raised)

attic 3-bay cottages sharing common gable and with

broad-eaved dormers; wide doorways; sashes with 4-pane

glazing; end stacks with projecting caps.

KENNELS are at SW;

BARN at N has dovecot in W gable-head, outshot to court, E

range now a house.

HORSEMILL adjoins barn N wall, and is unusually large, with shallow-pitched roof.

L-PLAN BLOCK (including stables) closes court at S and at E.
