Main house dated 1809 fronting 18th century single storey
range (now forming rear wing). S facing, 2-storey and
dormerless attic, 3-bay house. Rubble, tooled and polished
ashlar dressings. Centre entrance with corniced and moulded
doorpiece, double-leaf panelled door and decorative glazing
to rectangular fanlight; single ground and 1st floor
windows in W gable, also diminutive attic light; 12-pane
glazing. Tall coped end stacks; local slate roof, flat
skews with run-off skewputts moulded on underside and dated
at W.
Single storey ranges to rear, the main wing with substantial
18th century stack.
INTERIOR: small entrance stairhall with round-headed mural
recess originally intended to accommodate grandfather clock;
curved staircase with simple curved wooden balustrade; former
1st floor parlour (at W) with leaf pattern plaster cornice
and marbled chimneypiece (probably slate).
Mill of Boyndie no longer exists, but was of some local
consequence as were the Milne family, millers for at
least 2 centuries. The Milne burial enclosure in Inverboyndie
old church contains some fine 18th and 19th century mural
mouments.
Much altered range of farm buildings at rear not included
in listing.
