Description

Built 1824 as parish manse.
2 storeys, 3 bays, centre door with fanlight, ground floor
tripartites said to date from 1910, pair piended canted
dormers may also date from about then; pair recessed low
flanking wings. Rubble-built, squared dressings, sash
windows - mostly 4-pane glazing pattern; end stacks; slate
roofs.

Statement of Interest

Previous occupants include Robert James Brown, appointed

Professor of Greek at Marischal College, 1827 and William

Garden Blaikie who "came out" in 1843, later a Professor at

New College, moderator of the Free Church 1872 (information

from owner, 1989).
