Dated 1641 in raised letters at stair tower skew. 2-storey
and dormerless attic T-plan, circular stair tower centre
E. front richly corbelled to square top stage with small
corbelled turret stair in angle. Door N.
side stair tower. Harled with margins, chimneyheads
replaced in red granite ashlar to original pattern,
crowsteps to main gables and gablet centre W. front
restorations. Ground floor vaulted.
Built by Robert Farquhar Provost of Aberdeen in 1644.
In 1701-2 to Alex Hay of Arnbath, in 1714 to George Seton,
2nd son of Sir Alex Seton of Pitmedden, descendants of the
Setons of Meldrum the original owners.
