Probably James Gillespie Graham, architect. Built circa 1820. Rectangular-plan garden with rubble-built walls, stugged ashlar to west elevation, with crenellated parapet; panelled, chamfered and castellated square, polished ashlar gatepiers on plinths, with later decorative wrought-iron gates. Mid 19th century octagonal Gothick summerhouse set against east wall, square-headed door approached by steps and flanked by
pointed window openings. Crenellated parapet with machicolations; faceted roof with fish-scale slates and elaborate weather vane finial. Disused ice house to north.
Summerhouse not shown on 1st edition OS (surveyed 1854). Kilmaron House was extended in 1863, possibly by Charles Wilson of Glasgow, architect and the summerhouse may date from then. Gillespie Graham designed Kilmaron House, and it is likely that he also designed the walled garden.
