2-storey house circa 1760 with some alterations and low late
19th century single storey wing extending westward, forming
part of south side of courtyard. Harled, with margins mostly
painted. West elevation: door at left. 3 windows (mostly,
12-pane sashes) to ground and 1st floors, dated lintel in
right window partly obscured by low wing. Altered
fenestration to east elevation and 2 gabled dormer heads.
Crow-stepped gables, end and axial stacks and pantile roof with
slate easing course.
House forms east side of rectangular steading courtyard.
Steading mostly early 19th century rubble-built, with
pantile roofs. Variety of door and window openings to
courtyard: long north block has loft, 4 arcaded
segmental-headed cart entrances, 8 square loft openings, and
slate easing course to roof. Block to west is possibly 18th
century, with crow-stepped gables and altered roof line,
extended to south early in 19th century with finialled gable.
South block is 4 roof ridges in depth.
