Circa 1840. Symmetrical S facing single storey and attic,
Circa 1895. Probably W L Carruthers, architect, Inverness.
Single storey cruciform cottage with irregular 3-bay S facing
3-bay house. Coursed tooled rubble, tooled ashlar dressings.
Centre entrance sheltered by gabled porch supported by anta
frontage. Harled, contrasting tooled ashlar dressings.
Entrance in outer bay at SW. Projecting canted windows front
pilasters and with diminutive round-headed light. Gabletted
dormer in each outer bay; centre window in return gables. 2
advanced centre gabled bay and set back SE bay; windows with
deep ashlar base courses, mullioned gothic lights and
single storey, 2-bay harl pointed rubble wings project at
rear, linked by gabled rear entrance and centre corridor.
Y-tracery glazing. Multi-pane glazing elsewhere. Coped centre
ridge and single end stacks; slate roof with decorative red
12-pane glazing; decorative bargeboards; 2 sets paired
corniced and necked ridge stacks; end stacks to rear; piended
tile ridge and apex finials.
Modern single storey extension at rear.

Decorative trellises frame front and return gable windows.
Alexander Macleod of Greshornish, Skye who purchased Dalvey
circa 1800, married Marion Macleod of Bernera in Skye in
1796. She was widowed in 1822; this may have been her home
for some time between 1822 and her death in 1854.
