Description

Steading; large U-plan steading range of 18th and 19th
century dates; rubble with tooled rubble dressings. Long
crow-stepped barn with long elevations east and west closes
east side of court from sea and is linked at north gable
to Freswick House by long, coped rubble wall. Later addition
of wheel sheltered by lean-to wheelhouse at east gable,
served by lade running along east side of wall. North and
south ranges include byres, former stables and cart bay.
Mainly Caithness slate roofs, but some corrugated iron.
Enclosing walls; west side of court enclosed by high coped
rubble wall, which also extends along lane to link steading
with west side of Freswick House.
