18th century single storey cottage much altered in earlier
and later 19th century. Random rubble; raised, droved
ashlar dressings with chamfered arrises to openings.
S ELEVATION: steeply-pitched gable, advanced at centre
with bipartite light and blind slit above. Skews raised in
ashlar and gablet coped, (earlier 19th century).
Low E and W elevations with lean-to additions. Plate glass
sash and case windows. Pantiled roof, changing colour in
later N addition. Coped ashlar ridge stacks.
Raised gable form part of Lady Elgin's beautification
of Dirleton.
