Circa 1910. 2-storey Arts and Crafts style house, with
classical details to rear elevation, and lower eaves to
service block adjoining at W. Harled.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 5 irregularly spaced bays.
2 gabled bays breaking eaves at centre and to left.
Roll-moulded doorway with timber boarded door at centre.
Mullioned windows above with transoms at centre and to
stair window flanking to right. Advanced outer bay to
right with piend roof and piended dormerhead to 1st floor
window.
S (GARDEN) ELEVATION: 5 symmetrical bays. Consoled
shell hood to centre door. Tall windows flanking at
ground, 3 1st floor windows, centre mullioned. Venetian
windows in outer bays at ground and tripartites above.
Pentice-roofed, small-pane glazed conservatory to outer
left, in re-entrant angle with service bays. Gables or
gablet dormerheads to side elevations with decorative
wrought-iron balcony in E.
Small-pane glazing to casement windows. Grey-green
slates. Harled stacks with stepped grey engineering
brick coping. Harled boundary walls with slated coping
to garden side. Grey engineering brick bases to harled
gatepiers with slate pyramidal caps, echoing material of
house.
Architect possibly W J Walker Todd as house bears
similarities to his Baker's Croft, Lawson Place, Dunbar.
