Description

Mid 19th century. Symmetrical 3-bay classically detailed
farmhouse, 2-storey and L-plan with single storey
projections to rear. Squared and snecked rubble, ashlar
dressings.
S ELEVATION: wide 3 bays; door in advanced pedimented
centre bay. Large tripartites at ground to outer bays.
N (REAR) ELEVATION: gabled wing to right with single
storey E projection to left and piend-roofed addition.
12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows, with 4
and 8-pane to tripartites. Corniced ashlar stacks, one
ridge stack unusually at centre of main house. Slate
roofs, piended to S wing.
Short ashlar gatepiers with moulded coping to NW with
rubble coped, rubble quadrant walls.

Statement of Interest

Former farmhouse to N of present house, now ruinous. Lodge

by gatepiers to NW with further cottages beyond. Steading

to NE, not included in this listing.
