3 main phases of building, especially 1857 and 1865 when
older house converted to asymmetrical, 2-storey, 'T'-plan,
Scots Baronial country house. Stugged ashlar with polished
dressings. Main entrance at south-west with roll moulded
architraves and decorative panel above, small corbelled
bartizan at angle to right. Tower in re-entrant angle to
left, with conical roof with banded fish-scale slates;
advanced bay to left. Recessed bay at left with later
porch. Windows mainly mullioned with hood-moulds or cornices.
All gables crowstepped some with ball finials. Slate roof.
