Probably earlier 19th century, restored in early 20th century. Single storey, single storey and attic, L-plan block. Cement-rendered.
S ELEVATION: single storey and attic, rectangular-plan cottage,
3 closely-spaced bays symmetrically disposed with 4th blank bay to outer right. Bell-cast , gabled porch at centre, boarded door; flanking windows. Gabled dormerheads symmetrically disposed; plate glass rooflight at centre. Segmental-headed arch on right return gable, blocked as door; sandstone voussoir and surround, keystone. Link block to left attached to long, rectangular-plan block.
E ELEVATION: 7 bays; cement render with pink sandstone margins. Segmental-headed arch, now blocked with boarded door, to outer right; window to left; narrow piend-roofed porch, small windows to left.
3 outer left bays near-symmetrically disposed, margined boarded doors; gabled, slate-hung, hoist door at centre. Broad garage door on left return.
Graded grey slate bellcast roof with ashlar skews, moulded skewputts for cottage. Piend-roofed slate roof for outer range, lead flashings. 12-pane sash and case windows.
Rectangular-plan storage and piggery block attached to W. Rubble with droved red sandstone margins, corrugated-iron roof.
VEGETABLE GARDEN: large vegetable garden to W enclosed by hedges.
The stables are in a B Group with Geilston House and dovecot, both listed separately.
