Description

Possibly late 18th century; with earlier to mid 19th century walled garden at SE corner directly behind cottage. Large, rectangular-plan area enclosed by rubble wall; partly rebuilt and buttressed on exterior; large segmental-headed door, now blocked on S wall.

Later walled garden built within larger walled garden at SE corner; possibly vegetable garden to cottage. Rubble wall with staged red sandstone margined doors on E wall. Brick interior lining against S wall, raggle of former greenhouses. Doors on W wall also.

Statement of Interest

The gardens formerly belonged gardens of Ardoch House, now demolished. The barn to N of Ardochmore Farm, part of the offices of Ardoch House are listed separately. The later Ardoch House is listed separately.
