Description

Core dates from the turn of the century, circa 1700, and
has been attributed to James Smith. Later classical
enlargement when fire-places were supplied by William
Adam, added to in 1818 by James Gilespie Graham,
billiards room by David Bryce 1855, stable offices by
Brown and Wardrop 1873. Has been re-orientated and principal
front now faces south, symmetrical, ashlar, 3 storeys
with main rooms on 1st floor, centre pedimented slight
projection has round attic windows and 3 parapet urns,
flanking pavillions have slate piends connected by ridge
in centre. Side bowed facades. To rear, parallel wings
project, the eastern most having bowed end. Interior
decoration of considerable interest.
