Description

Probably Robert Turnbull, 1875/76. Individually ornamented
and asymmetrical double villa, built to resemble one large
house. 2 storeys, with 3-storey campanile in south west
re-entrant angle. Stugged ashlar with polished dressings;
some windows above ground have stone balconies. Plate
glass sash windows. Wide canted 3-bay end facing roadside,
porch (to Norwood) in re-entrant angle formed by campanile;
long 4-bay north (garden) elevation with outer canted
windows, door (to Hillcroft) below canopied hood on
stylised pilasters. Bracketted eaves; stacks with
distinctive flues; slate roofs.
