Early 19th century. Single storey, 5 bay, rectangular plan cottage. Whitewashed tooled random rubble with polished dressings and rusticated long and short quoins (to right only).
NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: originally 2 cottages (17 & 18). Asymmetrical, with timber panelled door offset to left in 2nd bay, flanked by two inset carved stone panels and windows to 1st and 3rd bays; window in penultimate bay to right; blind door to outer right.
NE ELEVATION: obscured by adjoining cottage.
SE ELEVATION: not seen 1997.
SW ELEVATION: obscured by adjoining cottage.
2 pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with lead ridge; stone skews; cast iron rainwater goods; polished sandstone coped gablehead stacks with circular cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1997.
The carved panels either side of the door are described by J Thomas as "na?ve 18th-century neoclassical" and are thought to be purely decorative.
