House; early 19th century, 2-storey, east facing 3-bay
house with centre door; harled. Sutherland coat of arms
and worn date-stone above door; small 1st floor windows
close to wallhead; 4-pane glazing in north and south gables
supporting plain barge-boards; slate roof.
Kilns; circa 1870. 2 large pairs oval section lime kilns,
probably of slightly different builds. Round-headed draw
arches to south pair, and segmental headed arches to northern
pair, which abut at slight angle. All coursed rubble with
tooled rubble dressings.
PIER: kilns served by rubble pier running out into loch in fron of them.
Sutherland/Stafford Arms above centre door; date obliterated. Skewputts projecting from gable ends characteristic of Sutherland; at Ard Neakie probably later 19th century, dating re-roofing of house. Pier also served Heilem-Portnancon ferry.
